The Challenge of Semantics

The participants of the Workshop will be settled in hotel Accordia, which is located in the second district of Vienna.

Since the nearest city-traffic-junction to the hotel is Schwedenplatz, here are a few hints how to get there from the point of arrival in Vienna:

How to reach the hotel from the airport. The first & the easiest option is the Vienna Airport Lines bus - line to Schwedenplatz, the ticket costs EUR 6.- and you will be brought directly to Schwedenplatz.
- The second option is to take the City Airport Train (CAT), the tickets cost EUR 9.- and you can get them at the machines located inside the luggage claim area. The destination of the train is again the Wien-Mitte traffic-junction.
- The third option is to take the Rapid Transit train [ SCHNELLBAHN ], line S7 (goes one level under the airport; just follow the signs), to Wien-Mitte traffic-junction (Landstrasse subway station). Don't forget to buy a ticket (fare: EUR 3.-)). The Landstrasse is only one subway station away from Schwedenplatz - take the subway line U4 - Direction HEILIGENSTADT.

How to reach the hotel from Westbahnhof. Take the subway line U3 - Direction Simmering to Stephansplatz, then the subway line U1 - Direction KAGRAN to Schwedenplatz.

How to reach the hotel from Südbahnhof. Take the tram line D to Kärntner Ring, Oper. From there, you take the subway line U1 - Direction KAGRAN two stations and you are on Schwedenplatz again.
- The second option is to take the tram line 18 - Direction BURGGASSE, STADTHALLE and go one station to Südtirolerplatz. From there take the subway line U1 - Direction KAGRAN to Schwedenplatz .

When you arrive at Schwedenplatz, the hotel is about 10 minutes walking distance. First you cross the Danube canal, over Schwedenbrücke (schwedenbridge); then go to the left, along Obere Donaustrasse. After a few minutes Obere Donaustrasse meets Große Schiffgasse, on your right side, where hotel Accordia is located.

Alternatively, from Schwedenplatz take the tram line 2 one station. Cross the Danube canal, over Salztorbrücke. The first street on the right is Große Schiffgasse.
